WHAT
What is professional coaching?
According to International Coaching Federation, coaching means “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.”
As for The Step In flavour, we see coaching as an inner leadership working journey. And more than that, as a space for writing new stories, stories about who we are today and who we could be tomorrow.

What does the coach do during the coaching process?
As per International Coaching Federation’s guidance, the coach honours the client as the expert in his or her life and work and believe every client is creative, resourceful and whole.
Standing on this foundation, the coach’s responsibility is to:
• Provide objective assessment and observations that foster self-awareness and awareness of others.
• Listen closely to fully understand the client’s circumstances.
• Act as a sounding board in exploring possibilities and implementing thoughtful planning and decision making.
• Champion opportunities and potential, encouraging stretch and challenge adequate with client’s strengths and aspirations.
• Foster shifts in thinking that reveal fresh perspectives.
• Challenge blind spots to illuminate new possibilities and support the creation of alternative scenarios.
• Maintain professional boundaries in the coaching relationship, including confidentiality, and adhere to the coaching profession’s code of ethics.
What is expected from me, as a client, during the coaching process?
As per International Coaching Federation, to be successful, coaching asks certain things, all of which begin with your intention. Additionally, you, as a client, should:
-
Focus on yourself, the tough questions, the hard truths and your success.
-
Observe the behaviours and communication of others.
-
Listen to your intuition, assumptions and judgments.
-
Challenge existing attitudes, beliefs and behaviours and develop new ones that truly serve your goals.
-
Leverage personal strengths and overcome limitations to develop a winning style.
-
Take decisive actions, however uncomfortable and, despite personal insecurities, reach for the extraordinary.
-
Show compassion for yourself while learning new behaviours and experiencing setbacks, and show compassion for others as they do the same.
-
Commit not to take yourself so seriously, using humour to lighten and brighten any situation.
-
Maintain composure in the face of disappointment and unmet expectations, avoiding emotional reactivity.
-
Have the courage to reach for more than before while engaging in continual self-examination with an open mindset.
We know. It’s a lot expected from you, as well, for you to reach your goals. But we are here to support you.
What happens between two 1:1 coaching sessions?
Before the 1st coaching session, we will:
• Schedule a 30-45 min free chemistry call / meeting, either face to face or online
• Get to know each other and determine client-coach compatibility
• Establish an overall coaching plan and goals
• Have a clear agreement about the coaching process, what is and is not being offered, coach’s, client’s and relevant *stakeholders’ responsibilities and future logistics of the coaching relationship (duration, timing, frequency, confidentiality, fees etc.) to get prepared for your coaching experience (*where appropriate)
• Sign the GDPR Agreement until the 1st coaching session
After each coaching session:
- You will receive, as per contract, a short message (Mail / Wapp) including key findings/learnings about yourself or your goals and the main action/s you have taken for yourself as next steps
- You will receive, as per contract, info on external resources you can further use to support your goal achievement journey (books, podcasts, articles, questionnaires etc., should you find them useful, depending on your learning preferences discussed at the beginning of our coaching agreement)
At the end of our coaching cycle:
- A ‘Wrap-up Coaching Summary” to recap what has been achieved during the coaching cycle (key findings/ learnings about yourself and personal or professional achievements)
What is your favourite coaching method?
We use a wide range of (coaching) instruments, so our favourite is the one that best fit our clients’ objectives and learning style.
”To be more specific, coaching the WHO proved to be one of the most effective instruments, so it slowly became my favourite.
In a coaching relationship, coaching the person, not the problem can open the door to a whole new space of growth possibilities where we can get acquainted with ourselves or work together with our inner worlds that are part of who we are: values, emotions, needs, beliefs or patterns, worlds that some of us may not be that familiar with or may have not visited for a while.
We can make change or growth happen by owning our trip and making it personal, more about who we are and who we want to become and less about who others want us to be.” (Anişoara Roşca)
What languages do you speak?
Since we provide our coaching services internationally, we have our coaching sessions in both, English and/or Romanian, depending on the client’s preferences.

HOW
How does coaching work?
Coaching is a guided process where the coach helps you come to your own conclusions through the power of questions and active listening.
Coaching changes the relationship you have with yourself, through increased self-awareness, self-confidence and self-leadership and facilitates change in the relationships you have with others.
You get to have your own answers. They are the best ones because you are the expert in yourself.

How many coaching sessions do I need?
It really depends on the professional or personal goals you want to achieve and the progress made during and between the coaching sessions. Here you have two examples:
-
If you need support to prepare a pay raise negotiation with your manager, a couple of 1:1 coaching sessions can be sufficient.
-
If you pass through a major career transition: expatriation/relocation/entrepreneurial project, depending on your goal, a 3-month coaching cycle might be needed, including 8-12 coaching sessions.
We will define together the estimated number of sessions, duration, timing and frequency during our first free 30-45 min chemistry call.
How much do you charge per coaching session/package?
The cost depends on several factors:
- the duration of the coaching cycle (you might decide to have one coaching session or a 3-6-9 month cycle)
- the type of coaching agreement as per the needed coaching services
- the personal and/or professional goal you want to achieve
Based on the above, we will discuss the coaching fee and provide you with an offer once having our first chemistry call.
WHEN
How long does a coaching session last and what is the recommended frequency?
60-90 min. As for the frequency, at the start of a coaching agreement, it is helpful to meet weekly, at least a few times, so that you can begin getting traction towards your goals.

How long does a coaching partnership usually last?
The length of a coaching partnership varies depending on the individual’s or team’s needs and preferences. For certain types of focused coaching, 3 to 6 months of working may work. For other types of coaching, clients may find it beneficial to work with a coach for a longer period, up to 1 year or more.
Factors that may impact the length of time include the types of goals, the ways individuals or teams prefer to work, the frequency of coaching meetings and financial resources available to support coaching.
WHERE
Where do the coaching sessions take place?
We will agree whether the coaching sessions are to take place face-to-face or remotely, online or via phone.
Presently, we conduct most of our coaching sessions online, via Zoom or Skype.
